New Playdecks for Location Based Services is a toolset developed during my PhD research in Design Sciences. It proposes a sequence of viewponts and methods which are aiming at the design of human centered Location Based Services (LBS). The toolset is mainly based upon the experiences made while designing the SnowSense WebGIS and IPhone application together with the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF and the Swiss Alpine CLub, SAC, section Davos in Switzerland.
New Playdecks for Location Based Services examines LBS from three points of view and is delivering six aspects an effective design of LBS should be based on: People&Suppliers, Processes&Systems, Places&Sites and Play.
