It’s now 8 months ago that I moved into my new studio in Lucerne, Switzerland, situated right in the heart of old town and next to Reuss river.
Since in terms of spaces and location it’s offering quite a lot of possibilities, the idea was born to open it for people with interesting ideas willing to share these spaces with me for a certain period of time by transforming them into stages, galleries, theaters or basecamps for their projects …
The idea behind the name stubenflieger is the fact that anything presented or performed would actually happen right in my stube – a german term for living room
Flieger instead means aviator, small aircraft or simply somebody who flies. And finally stubenflieger refers also to the german word Stubenfliege which signifies blackfly – a small little insect which quite often flies through our living rooms back here in switzerland …
… so off we go aviators and black flies, plenty of walls and spaces for your ideas!
